The snowdrops are here! I can well and truly feel the super-strong energy of wood rising in myself right now, and want to shout out loud and burst forth. And when we harness that energy, connecting together with each other, what a powerful opportunity we have to create something amazing. I can feel this energy of connection right now at the School of Classical Chinese Herbalism, and by working together, we are creating a way to learn and teach Jing Fang that is worthy of becoming an EHTPA accredited training.
And what this means is that we are really enjoying bringing more people into our Jing Fang Apprenticeship family. A big welcome to Susannah Fone, who is helping us with the accreditation paperwork, and to Neil Kingham, who will be our External Examiner. And huge thanks to Sue Mounter for the apprentice support she continues to offer, to Vasanthy Watt and Andrew Nuttall for helping to teach this wonderful subject, and to Berny Sebe, Alex Evans and Mark Preston for all their support and help as our governors. We are growing!
The Jing Fang Apprenticeship itself is going well at the moment, and it is a huge privilege to be able to discuss Jing Fang every week in person with a really interesting group of apprentices, all of whom are acupuncturists with a huge amount of collective experience of practice. I am constantly amazed by how far people come to be here with us in South Oxfordshire – at the moment it is Devon, Glastonbury, London and Brighton! We also regularly have apprentices from Bristol, Reading and Oxford, and the furthest anyone has come from is Nairn in Scotland. That was an interesting one because it is only possible to get to Cholsey from Scotland in the Spring and Summer, which made for an interesting timetable for that apprentice.

There are some more positives to the energy of wood – it is helping us to generally get on with it! I have finally finished editing Part 4 of the Jing Fang Lecture Series, which is great news and means that the whole series is now finished and available.
And already the new live online Jing Fang lectures are fast approaching. If you are new to Jing Fang, come and join us online for the introduction to Jing Fang on February 23rd. This will be an informal lecture and discussion about the subject, led by Frances, with some interesting cases to illustrate what we do. This is such a great system of Chinese herbal medicine, and it is exciting to share it with more people.
After that in March and April we are delighted to be offering three advanced lectures for current apprentices and students. We would like to invite you to share your cases so that we can discuss the way we have been using Jing Fang over the past year, and we can all benefit from each other’s experience. Check out the lecture page of the website.
May we continue to be able meet together, to share our knowledge freely, and to use these wonderful Chinese herbs to help people to heal themselves.
