Accreditation
Accreditation of Chinese Herbal Medicine Training
The European Herbal and Traditional Practitioners Association (EHTPA) has accredited the Jing Fang Qualification course.
The EHTPA was founded in 1993 when it became clear that with the development of the European Union, the legislative framework under which herbal medicine was practised in the UK and Europe was likely to undergo radical change. The main professional herbal practitioner associations in the UK affiliated with the Irish herbal associations to form the European Herbal & Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (EHTPA).
The EHTPA is an umbrella body which represents professional associations of herbal/traditional medicine practitioners offering variously Western herbal medicine, Chinese herbal medicine, Ayurveda and traditional Tibetan medicine. The EHTPA is dedicated to the development of herbal/traditional medicine, preserving and enhancing the legal basis of practice across the UK and EU Members States and promoting best practice throughout the traditions.
The EHTPA is the accrediting body for the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM). The RCHM is one of the two key lead bodies for Chinese herbal medicine in the UK.
Joining the RCHM
As an EHTPA accredited course, graduates of the Jing Fang Qualification course are automatically elegible to joing the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM).
Founded in 1987, the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM) is a UK professional organisation with over 300 members dedicated to upholding high standards in Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) and related practices. It safeguards public safety through a register of qualified, insured practitioners and an Approved Suppliers Scheme ensuring herbs meet strict quality and CITES compliance standards.
The RCHM enforces a strict Code of Ethics prohibiting the use of endangered species and promotes responsible patient care. Educational excellence is maintained by requiring degree-level CHM qualifications from accredited institutions or equivalent, setting teaching criteria, and ensuring members undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
The RCHM also provides accurate information to the public and media, responds to CHM-related news, and operates a Chinese Herb Garden in Bristol for educational purposes. It campaigns for statutory regulation of CHM practitioners and secure access to safe, high-quality herbs, working with UK and European bodies. In addition, it supports practitioners with CPD opportunities, conferences, publications, online resources, networking events, and research digests to promote safe, legal, and effective practice.

Testimonials from patients, students and graduates.
It has been the most remarkable and fulfilling educational experience I have ever had, because the learning is done through observing real patients and seeing how Frances diagnoses and treats them. Every week I’m there, I learn something new whether it is about herbs or formulas or syndromes. And being at the clinic is always hugely interesting. Doing Frances’s course and learning the Jing Fang pattern diagnosis has changed the way I treat my own patients as an acupuncturist.
It has been the single most helpful thing I’ve done for my health – it’s been life changing.
Your depth of knowledge, as well as your warmth and willingness to share it, have made the last two years the most important and enjoyable of my career to date.
The Jing Fang introductory lectures are extremely useful. The information is explained in a very clear and structured manner, with case studies that illustrate all the different formula patterns. The audio is a bonus. These lectures provide a very solid base that complement the practical side of the apprenticeship and help consolidate your learning.
It is such a privilege to be studying the Jing Fang Apprenticeship with Frances Turner, and I cannot wait to incorporate this incredible system into my practice to help patients.
Dr Feng, you have turned my world upside-down with this wonderful Jing Fang system… reading your case histories is inspirational.
Frances does a wonderful job of teaching Jing Fang to us in England, online and in person. It has transformed my herbal practice into being more effective, with quicker results, and being more curative.
Thank you for bringing Jing Fang into my life, it has done miracles for my health…I feel so privileged to have discovered this lineage.
I have been very lucky to meet Frances Turner and study the Jing Fang tradition you have shared all over the world. It’s a truly wonderful medicine, which I absolutely love to continue learning and practicing. So many have benefited from these teachings.
