We are delighted to announce the launch of our new SCCH website, at the auspicious time of 3.45pm today December 11th. Designed by Sadie Moden, it has all the elements that were there before, but now it is all joined up and elegant! Thank you so much Sadie.

We held a little ceremony for the launch, starting by thanking everyone who supports us – IT support, apprentices and graduates, teachers, assistants and governors. We are so blessed. Today marks a huge step in creating SCCH as a collective venture, with the aim of bringing Jing Fang classical herbalism to a wider audience.
I had an interesting experience saying out loud my hopes and dreams for SCCH. I realise that for me, this is really deeply about health and well-being. Herbal medicine is just one way that I use to keep myself in balance, healthy and sharp, and to help others to do the same. It goes alongside everything else I do, like breathwork, meditation, acupuncture, energy healing, walking in nature, and eating well – all those day-to-day things we can choose to embrace or not.
Herbs are part of the bounty of nature, and there is something truly mind-blowing about the way we can get vital energy from the nature that is around us. I want to learn more about the way these herbs grow, and maybe even plant more Chinese herbs in my garden and watch them grow. I already have peony (bai shao) and tree peony (mu dan pi) but there is plenty of space for more.
For me, training new Jing Fang practitioners is about amplifying the sending out of this incredible system of Chinese herbal medicine. We are creating a network of practitioners, both in the UK and abroad, and my hope is that each of these practitioners can become a hub of practice in their turn. We hope that the accreditation process we have just entered with EHTPA will also help us with this amplification.
So in the launching of the website, you will see that we have now posted some new dates. Firstly, the dates for our 2023-24 Jing Fang Apprenticeship are now there. Secondly, I have posted the dates for some new lectures, including an introductory lecture next February that is ideal for people who are interested in Jing Fang and want a taste of what it’s all about.
We are excited about what’s happening and look forward to the continuing development of this Jing Fang approach to Chinese herbal medicine training.
