We are very excited to announce that we (the School of Classical Chinese Herbalism) have entered the European and Traditional Practitioners Association (EHTPA) accreditation process.
We have done this primarily so that our apprentices can become members of the RCHM (Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine), one of the leading UK Registers for Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioners. The RCHM is a great resource for herbalists in the UK and offers its members CPD courses and a yearly conference, as well as working with government agencies for the continuing health of Chinese herbal medicine as a profession. The RCHM is a member of the EHTPA, which is responsible for the accreditation of training courses in many branches of herbal and traditional medicine.
So this is a lot of work on the paperwork front! I have been writing massive documents that set out our vision and values, and actually, it has been quite an interesting process writing it all down clearly for others to understand. I get now why this is important – it kind of brings everything into focus. So here, in essence, it is:
Our vision is to be a hub of Jing Fang practice in a central UK location and contribute to the worldwide network of Jing Fang practitioners by strengthening the knowledge and practice of Jing Fang Classical Herbalism in the UK.
Our mission statement is to generate competent, safe and useful practitioners of Jing Fang classical herbalism in a relaxed and enjoyable clinical environment, at the same time offering low-cost Chinese herbal medicine treatment to the local community.
And our values are about equal treatment of everyone involved, giving respect to each person as an individual with unique skills, and appreciating apprentices as practitioners who already have a huge experience base, and are simply adding the new skill of Jing Fang to their portfolio

JFA Graduates
We know this accreditation process will be worthwhile, and really look forward to future connection with the RCHM, who are a wonderful bunch of people, thoroughly committed to the development of Chinse herbal medicine as a profession in the UK.
